new year beckons

As 2007 draws to a close, 2008 approaches. Another year has passed ever so swiftly although its just as if yesterday when I was on my way to school for the first day of form 3. Many things have happened and its been a rather eventful year.

Among the more memorable happenings would be me quiting being a prefect, sitting for my PMR examinations, losing in futsal competitions(twice or thrice), not making the bowling squad, celebrating my birthday, sitting for my theory exam, getting my theory results and also my PMR results.

Not really the kind of happenings that make the hairs of one's back tingle but well at least I can say,

I QUIT BEING A PREFECT!

And so moving on, as a new year looms ever closer, one has to have resolutions right. So here are some of mine.

1 To play football more skillfully

2 To understand the subjects that are hard to understand

3 To not fail in any exam and to study harder

4 To save more money

5 To help MANCHESTER UNITED WIN THE PREMIERSHIP (by watching every match)

Okay I can understand if you guys find this lame cause it is. HAHA

So before I start to crap further I better stop now while I'm still sober. Enjoy your parties people if you are at one, drink up your alcohol and quickly refill, eat more eat more, open your eyes if you're viewing a fireworks display, and finally don't forget to wish your loved ones.

As we are so focused on the future, we miss out on the present. Take things one step at a time and enjoy 2007 or whateverthat's left of it as were never coming back.

Remember the good times of the year and forget the bad and painful.

Were moving on to a new year.

Were changing with every passing second, minute, and hour.

Hopefully it's for the better.

TO 2008!! WITH HOPE AND JOY!!

RESULTS ARE OUT!!

Yes you heard me right. Result day which was dreaded by many finally took place yesterday. In spite of all the much talk about hype and build up to the actual day, it turned out to be a pretty much mild affair.

Not that I'm complaining.

Nope definitely not.

So, the day started off with me being emo while going through my breakfast. Finally changed into my school attire minus the badge and the tie though. Walked out to wait for the bus to school. Plugged in my earphones and selected shelter by Corrinne May, which is a rather slow song which suited the way I was feeling at the time.

SLOW

CALM (NOT!)

EMO

Okay so maybe I wasn't feeling that emo and worried but neither was I clam. Finally reached the school. Met Amirul at the front gate. He was with his dad. (didn't know I was looking straight at a state top student gosh)

And so met up with friends some not seen for some time some seen everyday. Eagerly awaited the results to come through the front gate and into the hall where all the tables and chairs were awaiting the teachers to make use of them.

10.15am

Still no sight of any papers. The sound of heartbeats ever clearer, the sight of sweat on the ground, the smell of the already polluted air didn't make things better.

10.30am

The wait continues. The sound of parents and students chatting grew louder as if to say they weren't worried anymore. Ivan was probably the most emo of all with Jethro being the least or not emo not worried not bothered whatsoever in typical Jethro fashion. Ivan's shirt was already sticking to his back with the sweat looking like glue.

10.45am

CRAP. The results still were not in sight. News came in that convent got their results. Joey got straight A's, Xinyi got straight A's(that's all I know of) , and convent got 94 in total. Friends and relatives started to call but I merely clicked on the busy button and ignored. My heart was practically going to jump out. This was certainly no time to be answering calls.

11.ooam

First sight of the result envelope. Bestari's class teacher though. Cendekia's students waited on again. In no time, all class teachers were found in the hall. All students queuing at their respective lines. Then an announcement was made. "Could teachers of classes A,B,C and D come up onto the stage?". I thought to myself (damn they're going to call one by one onto the stage to collect our results) And it turned out to be true.

11.15am

Pengetua was the one handing out our result slip and also hugs. Yes you're not having eyesight problems. HUGS. Pira was already like "Must hug ah??" I didn't care as long as my name was called. They started off with the 8A's, starting with the B class, then the C class then the A class.

11.20am

Finally they were calling the 7A's. Sean and co were already up on stage celebrating their success with Nash being the liveliest pumping his fists and showing peace signs to all. Me on the other hand looked from below still uncertain of what was to come. Then finally, B. Jayaseelan, Ivan Looi Jia Jun, and then Jonathan Si E Chen, gosh I was GLAD, RELIEVED, THANKFUL, GRATEFUL, SHOCKED, PLEASED, and GLAD all over again.

EC had 61 straight A's in total. Rather low compared to SSI's 96, Convent's 94, Sigs's 66 and not forgetting STF's (forgot but should be hundred plus WTH LA)

And so it was joy all round,

Cheers and jubilation,

Tears and comforting ( Ivan we are humans after all ),

Parents congratulating,

Students thanking teachers,

Students thinking of what to ask from parents,

Students leaving in a hurry,

Students not wanting to leave,

And so on. Here's to all the straight A students,

CONGRATS!!!

YATTA!!!

WE DID IT!!!

ITS OVER!!!

FORM FOUR HERE WE COME!!!

journey to the south

Its CHRISTMAS!! So MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Went to Singapore today. It seems every Christmas I make trip there as exactly this day last year I went there too. Left home at 9. Had breakfast in town. "Puri" it was. Went on to the customs, passport check and stuff the usual then boarded the bus for kranji.

Reached kranji around 11. Bought the mrt passes and headed on to await the train. Met Matthew Chow. Surprised that he recognises me though. He was with his family. Well then suddenly, an announcement sounded. It seems that there was an accident and that the train would be delayed by around 60 minutes. WTH. Luckily they solved the problem ahead of schedule and we only waited for only 15 minutes.

The train was crowded as usual. Not that I was shocked or anything. Its CHRISTMAS for god's sake.

kranji station

took this for fun

another picture of the mrt (the girl wanted to pick her nose but HA caught in the act)

Finally reached my stop which was orchard road. Again it was madness all round as I got off the train. Here is a better picture,

mad rush for the escalators

queuing at the general ticketing machines

Went on to have lunch at MOS Burger at Takashimaya.

my lunch

halfway through my lunch

After lunch, I went on my own way alone. The rest stayed in Takashimaya. I went to Paragon, Tangs, Wheelock Place, Wisma Atria, and the streets of Orchard. Unfortunately Crumpler was closed so couldn't get to see the bags I wanted to see. sigh. But it was great walking alone in Orchard.

It truly is all about love

wheelock place

some guy singing with his guitar in the underpass on the way to wheelock place ( he was kinda posing for me but as soon as i hit the capture button, he turned. WTH LA)

One of the many ice cream vendors. HEY HOLD ON IT'S NOT!!! IT'S SINGAPORE'S VERSION OF OUR LORI SAMPAH. (LAUGHS)

But one of the more interesting happenings today involver a half naked middle aged indian man.

Intrigued??

Let me explain then.

This is the main star of the happening,

see the guy in front of the white car?..that's the man.
so this is what happened. In conjunction with christmas and all, an event was to be held in the middle of Orchard Road later in the evening. So, preparations like blocking the road, preparing the stage and stuff. Apperantly this guy wasn't happy with everything that was going on for only god knows what reason.
This is a short dialogue of what happened.
unnamed half naked indian man : what the hell la you people. road also go and block. You think what??
everyone else there : (speechless at the sight of the guy)

unnamed half naked indian man : no need to do all these things la. see my backside also better!!who wants to see my backside? you want to see put up your hand. I show you. No need shy la.
everyone else there : (still speechless but little voices whispering here and there) ( starting to walk away)
unnamed half naked indian man : ah nvm la..( starts to walk away in anger)

Well kinda hard to believe but seriously it's all true. And so that pretty much concludes my trip to Singapore. Left the country at around 5. Stepped back into relatively known territory at around 6.

that's all I have for this post.

the couple

I'm blogging today about Ivan (yes to all who know him, the famous Ivan) and also the equally infamous Alex.

Well, so the story begins.

Well sorta.

Okay so this is it, Alex and Ivan have known each other since, form one i guess but that's not important here. What is is the fact that they're as close as hmm let's say Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. (I couldn't find a better more loving couple in comparison so..laughs)

Anyway, the two of them do have many similarities unlike popular belief that they don't. So I compiled a list to prove all you people who think likewise wrong.
Here it is,

Similarities between Alex and Ivan:

1 they are guys (DUHH!!)

2 they wear specs

3 they love eating (maybe one more than the other but wth)

4 they are both "moral nilai" memorising idiots

5 they both are in the st john cadet team

6 they both love to bodek teachers

7 they are both very how to put it, stuck up

8 they both go after girls form the same school ( just in case you're wondering, shhh, its CONVENT)

9 they cant get enough of each other (literally)

10 they both love bickering (more often than not with each other)

11 they both suck in football

12 they both are gay occasionally (the happy meaning of the word)

13 they are both GAY (now its the usual meaning of the word)

14 they both are so gonna kill me tomorrow but for the sake of blogging I'll LIVE ON!!

p/s Ivan and Alex argue everyday without fail. But in all honesty, they love each other. THEY DO!!, I'm not joking. I AM NOT!!...

to the couple mentioned above, repeat after me "you love each other"

you do right??

XD

sorry to the couple though

the holiday

First of all sorry for the long interval between updates. Well, I have been caught up with unwanted matters (to be blogged about later).
And so my holiday, went to cameron highlands and KL. Not quite a holiday I had in mind but it was great, considering that I only went to those places.

first day of (5/12)

Went up to KL that morning. Later in the afternoon headed to KLCC to window shop as I didnt have much money. Ended up buying a watch though.

The watch I got,

Didn't buy anything else there. Not that rich. The watch burned a "BIG" hole in my pocket. XD

second day (6/12)

Left for cameron, reached cameron, checked in to the apartment, walked in cameron, was raining, went to night market where even malays speak cantonese. (I'm saying this cause I don't understand cantonese so yea)

third day (7/12)

Still in cameron. went to the cactus valley, strawberry farm, and tea plantation. Bought tea and more tea!! strawberry farm

tea plantation

family pic at the tea shop

fourth day (8/12)
Left cameron, went back to KL. Met up with my uncle's aunt and cousins at one utama for dinner. Just before that went to the curve to do some shopping. Dinner at one utama was great. We ate at a vietnamese restuarant.

the vietnamese restaurant

after dinner, we walked around and I bought an album from Rock Corner. Papamore's latest tittled RIOT!

the album

5th day (9/12)

Went to sg. buloh for breakfast. Dim Sum it was. All the way there you know from Damansara but it was worth it. The food was great! Back at my aunt's place, my cousin brought me for a ride in his car around the housing estate.

IT WAS SERIOUSLY AWESOME!!!

the speed we were going at

the stunt he pulled off

imagine being in a car doing that,

do you have it in you head??

If you don't, get someone to have you in their car and pull it off. You'll love it

Left for home after that wondering will dad ever do that??

IMPOSSIBLE

(laughs)

in PJ for the moment

Woke up at 5 in the morning to get ready for my trip up north. Considering that I woke up that early, we left rather late at a time of 7.30. That was after breakfast and all but still it seemed a long time right.

Well to me it did.

But wth that's just me.

(breakfast was at MCDONALDS)

And so we headed on to the highway and a couple of stops along the way with me sleeping all the way through until we reached Seremban. The journey here was pretty smooth no jams whatsoever.
Finally we reached our destination at 11.38 to be exact. Had lunch, slept a little more, watched TV and decided to use my cousin's computer to post something. And so here I am.

Ever wondered what the best newspaper is?
well here's an answer for you,

uncle: know which newspaper is the best?
jon: no?
uncle: obviously THE SUN!
aunt: cause its free?
uncle: YEA!!
jon: ............

but hey its true isn't it. Free stuff do seem nice. Earlier my friend's condo just opened a canteen and was serving free meals as sort of an advertisement and so my friend went to try it out.( come on its a FREE LUNCH, wouldn't you go?) anyway I asked her how it tasted and she said it was not bad considering it was free and all so there you have it.

FREE STUFF ROCK!!

of walls, gates, fences and a start

A wall is what it is. A WALL.

Funny how my first post would be about a wall of all things but ah....
This is the time when I enlighten you on the whole fuss about the wall.

I'm not talking about the wall in "STARDUST" or about the wall that many may or may not have come across in "FACEBOOK".

Okay, back to where I was. I was at my friend's place to celebrate DEEPAVALI/RAYA or so although it may seem a little late now but nevertheless that's not my point here.

Alright! enough crap although this whole post may seem like one.
So me and my friends were at the end of the street launching rockets (sounds more spectacular doesn't it) . Not knowing that the guard locks the gate at 9pm sharp,( for all of you who didn't know, Impian Emas has a damn strict security much to my annoyance) we continued with the launching having more fun with each passing rocket and also sudden car alarm ringings.
Alex then had a call or something indicating that he had to return to Ash's house to wait for his parents to pick him and was bent on climbing the fence although it was lined with sharp wires.
Nelson was also in a panic as his uncle had already reached the front porch of Ash's house. And so as Alex risked it all by climbing the wall oopps fence, the others including myself looked at the gate/fence as if there was something we were missing and so it seemed as Pira noticed that a simple lift of the gate at its hinge would allow us to squeeze through. And so it proved to be true. We laughed all the way back to Ash's house and also at Alex for climbing it.

And so there you have it. (p/s it was actually sort of a gate/fence but a wall sounds all the much better)
