Kluang

Went to Kluang yesterday. A small town just an hour and a half away from the hustle and bustle of JB. Went to visit a friend I made in last year's ESP camp. Tien Hui, an upper six student from SMK Tun Hussein Onn.

She had the whole day planned and first up was mountain hiking. Met up with her friends, Catherine, 19 (kluang), Lao Da, 21(kluang), Jun Kai, 21( Lao Da's cousin from Singapore) and Jae-Yenn, 19( kluang but studying in Singapore).

A very very colourful bunch to say the least.

All fun.

And so we set out to climb Gunung Lambak. A 1540metre high peak.

Lao Da and Catherine didn't follow us to the peak as they couldn't make it to the halfway point. And so it was just Jun Kai, Jae-Yenn, Tien, and myself. The hike up was not a problem for the three of us but Jae-Yenn was clearly tired and not used to activities like these but she pulled through and we reached the peak in 40 minutes.

Once we had reached the peak, all thoughts of exhaustion and the likes were completely erased. The view, stunning.

After the climb, we went for lunch. Had beef noodles. One of the many highlights of Kluang.

FOOD,

FOOD

AND MORE FOOD.

All in all, yesterday was one to remember. Definitely.

a tale of strikes, spares, and open frames.

Selections for the EC BOWLING team took place today at Leisure Mall. A total of 5 games were to be played. A more consistent competition as opposed to the normal 3 game selection.

Amirul was the evident favourite to top the list and so it turned out as he garnered a total of 963pins after 5 games. Azraai came in second, a full 100 pins back with 863. Afif the sole form 4 was third with 829 pins and I came in at fourth with 808 after a horrendous first game of 126.

In the under-15 category, Amirul's brother, two unknowns ( to me at least ) and a St John junior, first former, Ong Shan Li came out as the top 4.

All in all today was a good day at the lanes and if the selections are anything to go by, EC an expect to have a good outing at the MSSD in early April.

Amidst the strikes and spares of the day, the open frame came at roughly 10pm local time. Old Trafford witnessed a mauling so very unexpected. Liverpool the victors.

Man, and that ruined my day.

Mathematics and the likes

If someone were to tell you that maths is just numbers, think again.

Well, back in the day,

I used to think pie was just food till i discovered it's actually made up of the numbers 3.142

I used to think tables was an object you use to write on in class.

I used to think 1+1 can only be 2.

I used to think a square was just a shape.

I thought you only sketched in Art lessons.

I would never have imagined that set squares would actually consist of two triangles.

I never thought a calculator could be used to play games.

Standard one ( where we were shorter and the pants we wore were shorter )

Teacher : I have one apple. I buy another apple. How many apples do I have?

Class : TWOOOOOOOOOOO

Teacher : Good.

Form 5 ( where we become taller, and yeah longer hair except for the bald dudes lah )

Teacher : And so it's like this. The numbers to base 2can only be 1 or 0. And so
one plus one to base two is one zero. Understand?

Students : Huh? Written as 1+1 = 1 0?

Teacher : Yes. Okay. Now we move on to bases 5 and 8.

However, as the knowledge is intensifying, one thing changes for the worst.

Modern Maths class

"My friend had one of the first mobile phones. It was the Atur 450. It costs roughly around RM 12000. Imagine that. And all you could do was call okay. And in certain areas too"

EST Class

" Here are the handouts. Complete them and put in on my table"

(next class )

" okay this is today's work. finish it before you can go back "

( what happened to teaching? )

Biology class

"deng jiga deng deng jiga deng deng" goes the sounds of Jayaseelan, Yoges and Harpreet as they fantasise about doing the next "slumdog pokaiare"
( teacher just goes on talking )

And the damn administration wants us to stay back till 2.30 each day for this? I hell won't stay.

p/s sorry for sounding a little harsh. All neccessary.
