day two - camp

DAY 2 - saturday

Got ready by 5.30, went down to the canteen, waited for the teacher. Heads were already on the table, wrapped in arms. ( most sleeping ) deprived of sleep you see. Alex was the worst of the lot. Complaining the most too. He was appointed "boss" for this camp so he felt he needed to the most so stayed up all night doing the gadgets.

"senam arobik" followed. Some thai music was playing and we were supposed to follow these uber not cool gay movements. XD humiliating I tell you. breakfast was next and our Alex, yes the sleepy one was AWAKE. Food being the reason. Was one of the first to reach the canteen.

Divided into 6 groups. There were 300 of us mind you. Each group was massive. We were grouped with the police unit. 6 activities were to be done.

First up, the cooperative games. Splited into two groups. We lost by 4 cm to the other teams stack of shoes. Had to see who could stack the highest pile of shoes. Next up we had to hold hands and pass a rope through to the end of our line. Kinda okay the activity went.

Then we had orienteering. This one was rather boring. Learned to use the compass. Navigated our way to find different checkpoints. Rather simple cause you could see where the next checkpoint was from the previous one. Had to solve "pantuns". I came up with some whacky ones like, " kalau ada kereta mewah, jangan langgar, langgar" and the others did too.

Then the fun kicked in. And I mean serious fun. We were to do kayaking next. Had to jump into the river with what you were wearing. Jet was in slacks. haha got into the kayaks and just paddled around. Everyone attacked Ivan and I mean really attack. XD Had a few clashes with the wall around the river but it was fun. Jeremy's boat turned turtle when he and Fab came out of it. He went " no no! FAB!!, where are you?? " he thought Fabian was still underneath the kayak when actually he was already making his way out of the river.

The flying fox was next on our list. Learned how to put on the harnest ( looks like some underwear, the way you wear it is exactly the same too) One by one, we went to the top of the 30 foot high tower. Alex was like " safe ah? i dunwan die le" The trainer there couldn't help but scare him a bit. He was like "you're next" with a cheeky grin. When it was my turn, oh the feeling of you going to jump off was very very nerve recking. It was okay once you jumped off though. The feeling of flying like that was truly one of a kind.

-lunch-

Repelling next. This was scaling down a wall. Another cool activity. You get to control all the movements. How fast you wanted to go down and stuff. Ivan wanted to show his "pro-ness" . He kicked at the wall so hard that he came face first whacking the wall. We all laughed but it was damn fun. Some were stiff, some just let the rope go and come down without kicking at all and there was this dude that got his pants torn doing it. (laughs)

The last of our activities was the obstacle course. The course was very fun. It consisted of the monkey-bar, crawling under wire thingy, swinging over mud, one of the police members got his shoe stuck in it and had to use his hands to get it out. felt sorry for the guy. poor dude. we then had to go over a wall. The first few went through with ease. Then came the bigger in size dudes. Me and some others helped out. Creating a mini human staircase. haha

Gathered back at the astaka for a rehearsal of tomorrow's march pass. A freaking long two hour session this one. Had dinner and prepared for the nights "malam kebudayaan". Performed a spontaneous comedy act. Went okay considering we didn't set any lines and all. Slept earlier that night. Around 1.

and so there went day 2
